'When I keep missing and they keep hitting, I get very flushstraighted.'

The title is a Tommyism, I found on TommyAngelo.com, the website of a poker player whose name I forget. There are some good thoughts on there. And consequently I've been doing some good thinking. The main outcome was the realisation that I need to increase my bankroll. So I will continue to do so.
Anyway, I'm up $0.07 since this morning's post. I'd say it could be double that if I'd run closer to EV.
I was down $0.14 after the first 131 hand session. It was the first session from the group I'm about to talk about, as well as the first 131 hand session of them, and also the first 131 hand session I've played as part of this quest. I was beginning to question my play more and started opening with A9, when I'd previously been folding. I'm unsure whether it's a good ace or a mediocre ace. I'd class AT as a good ace and, other than the broadway potential, is there that much difference in value?
Despite this tormenting question, I played another session and this time my loss was more important (in the French sense of the word). This was the first hand.

River: (21 BB) 6 (3 players) SB bets, Psychomobil calls, MP3 calls
Results: SB had 8, 4 (two pair, eights and fours). Psychomobil mucked K, K (one pair, Kings). MP3 mucked A, 8 (one pair, eights).
Outcome: SB won $0.92
Obviously there will be people who 3-bet/call 4-bets pre with 84 at these stakes, but it's still irritating. I mark these people as purple and avoid them.
I ended down $0.76 from 125 hands.
I was just 2-tabling for the last session of the day. I wanted to think hands through more and I also wanted to acclimatize to the HUD that I've been neglecting. If you can do maths, you'll already know that I made a $0.97 profit. But this wasn't really because of the use of the HUD or because of my ability to focus on each hand more. It was because of this.

I got incredibly lucky with my river gutshot, obviously. However, I find it interesting how the SB and BB played their aces differently, but essentially the same. If they knew me, they would have easily chucked their hands on the flop, knowing my affinity with the J9. Personally, I was surprised to see that they both had aces, as it's not really how I would have played it. I found the SB's turn bet particularly odd. Anyway, thanks to this, it only took me 36 hands to make the $0.97. Not that I was specifically trying to make $0.97, I just said it this way because I already said that I made $0.97.
Well that's all for today.
